The second issue of NEWISH, a youth magazine on Jewish history and culture, is in the works!

This means that very soon we will receive a warm welcome and will be able to read articles and reviews by our authors.

NEWISH was conceived not only as a platform where novice researchers, students, master's and doctoral candidates publish their work. It was important for us to create a space where we could ask difficult, sometimes uncomfortable questions about the subject and meaning of research and seek answers together with those who have already made their way in Jewish and Israeli studies.

In this issue, in a special section called EXPERTWISH, we spoke with researchers from different cities, with different interests and backgrounds. We focused on three questions:

• What path can one take in Jewish or Israeli studies?
• What knowledge and skills are necessary for a specialist?
• What career opportunities exist outside of academia?
